Kents Cavern is one of the most important Stone Age sites in Europe and one of Britain’s best show caves! On your visit you’ll go back to a time when the cave was home to ancient humans, sheltering from extreme weather, making fires, shaping tools and hunting Ice Age animals. As you walk through the extensive labyrinth of caverns, you’ll be surrounded by 400 million-year-old rocks and spectacular stalagmites and stalactites.

Holiday home of the famous author Agatha Christie, take a journey back in time and get a glimpse into her life. The house is where Agatha would spend summers & Christmases, relaxing by the river. Agatha was a great collector, and the house is filled with archaeology. Greenway gardens are large and the walled gardens are home to a restored peach house and vinery, and an allotment. A visit isn’t complete without seeing the Boathouse, scene of the crime in ‘Dead Man’s Folly’. The best way to travel to Greenway is by ferry and steam train visit The Dartmouth steam railway and riverboat website. Just make sure you Pre-book if you are planning to arrive by car.
There are free trails for kids to do in the house and garden. In the house, you can choose between the archaeology trail, perfect for older kids, and the animal-themed spotter trail which is great for little ones. Agatha Christie’s husband Max was an archaeologist and they went together on digs. For the archaeology trail, Agatha is packing to go on a dig, and kids are challenged to spot the items from her packing list.
The Easter bunny has been running around the garden hiding his eggs, dropping special words about nature as he goes. Find them and work out what they mean on this Wild and Wonderful Word Hunt. A Cadbury chocolate reward will be your prize (while stocks last)
